Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Age Limit

The age limit for RRB Group D posts is 18 to 33 years as on the crucial date mentioned in the official notification.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Up to additional 3 years after deduction of military service rendered from actual age
  • Other categories as per government rules
Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for RRB Group D posts is:

  • 10th pass OR ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT OR equivalent
  • Some specific posts may require additional qualifications which will be mentioned in the notification
Medical Standards

Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards for the post:

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify in the CBT are called for PET. The standards for PET are:

For Male Candidates:

  • Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance

For Female Candidates:

  • Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance
