RRB JE Eligibility Criteria
To apply for RRB JE posts, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Educational Qualifications Required
Junior Engineer (JE)
Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or combination of various engineering streams.
Junior Engineer (Information Technology)
B.Sc. (Computer Science)/BCA/B.Tech (IT)/B.Tech (Computer Science)/DOEACC ‘B’ level course of 3 years duration or equivalent.
Deputy Chief Draftsman
Diploma in Engineering of 3 years duration in relevant discipline.
Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant
B.Sc. with Physics and Chemistry with minimum 55% marks.

Nationality/Citizenship
Eligible Candidates
A candidate must be either:
– A citizen of India, or
– A subject of Nepal, or
– A subject of Bhutan, or
– A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
– A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Medical Standards
General Medical Fitness
Candidates must be medically fit according to the physical standards for the post. The medical examination will include:
- Vision test
- Hearing test
- Blood pressure check
- General physical examination
- Any other tests deemed necessary
Visual Standards
The minimum distant vision should be 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed ± 4D).

Documents Required
Candidates who qualify both CBT stages will be called for document verification. The following documents are required:
- RRB JE Application Form Printout
- Matriculation/10th Standard Mark Sheet (for age proof)
- Educational Qualification Certificates (Diploma/Degree)
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Income Certificate (for EWS candidates)
- PwBD Certificate (if applicable)
- Photo Identity Proof (Aadhar, Voter ID, etc.)
- Two recent passport size photographs
