Eligibility Criteria

To apply for VITEEE, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

Academic Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in the current year for 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Minimum Marks Requirement

General category candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.

Age Limit

Candidates born on or after July 1, 2002 are eligible to apply. There’s relaxation for specific categories as per government norms.

Important: NRI and foreign national candidates have separate eligibility criteria. Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time, Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.

Subject-wise Eligibility Details

For B.Tech. Programs:

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects
  • Should have passed in all subjects in the qualifying examination
  • Improvement marks are considered if the marksheet indicates the same

For B.Tech. Bio-related Programs:

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology are compulsory subjects
  • Mathematics/Biology should be studied in Class 12
  • Candidates with Mathematics can apply for all programs

Mode of Examination

VITEEE is conducted in online mode (Computer Based Test) at various centers across India and abroad.

Duration

The exam duration is 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes) for all candidates.

Type of Questions

The question paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options. Each question has one correct option.

Language

The question paper is available in English language only.

Note: Candidates can choose either Mathematics or Biology based on the program they wish to apply for. Mathematics is for all B.Tech programs except Bio-related programs. Biology is for B.Tech. Biotechnology, Bioengineering, and Food Technology programs.

Positive Marking

Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

Negative Marking

No negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates are encouraged to attempt all questions.

Tie-breaking Criteria

In case of tied scores, the following order is followed: Mathematics/Biology score > Physics score > Chemistry score > English score > Aptitude score > Date of Birth (older candidate given preference).
